H.J. Milek of Thermopolis Dies

H. J. Milek of Thermopolis, Wyo., died Christmas morning, Dec. 25 at Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minn.

Mr. Milek was a brother-in-law of Carl Bruch and his sisters, Elizabeth and Pauline Bruch, all of Lusk who with Mrs. Carl Bruch and children were all in Thermopolis for the funeral services which were held in St. Francis Catholic church on Friday morning, Dec. 30.

The casket bearers were four brothers and his brother-in-law, Carl Bruch.

The wedding of Miss Juliana Bruch and Mr. Milek was held in Lusk on October 16, 1911at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Arnold, just south of where the Ranger Hotel now stands.

Henry Joseph Milek was born at Yutan, Nebr., June 19, 1885 and came to Thermopolis in 1906. He drove the stage for about two years between Meteetsee and Thermopolis before there was a railroad.

Mr. Milek was a stockman and rancher and a retired businessman and at the time of his death was building a new home on his farm which adjoins State Park on the east side of the Big Rorn River. He served as commissioner of Hot Springs county at the time the courthouse was built.

He was a member of the Cburch of St. Francis and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his widow, Juliana; a son, Cornelius A. Milek; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte McCarthy all of Thermopolis and five brothers and four sisters.
