John V. Leibli Dies in California
John V. Leibli, a former resident of Lusk, was foung lying face down near the sidewalk in Compton, Calif., on Friday forenoon, December 30. The fire department resuscitator and an ambulance were both summoned and as the ambulance was the first to arrive Mr. Leibli was taken to Dr. Algee's hospital, where the doctor pronounced the victim dead.
Mr. Leibli was 82 years of age and stopped in Lusk during the past year or two, when with his son, Wilfred Leibli and family, they were en route to Hot Springs, So. Dak., to visit at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Sauter and family.
During the years that Mr. and Mrs. Leibli lived in Lusk they owned and managed the Royal Apartments. From here they moved with their son Wilfred and family to California, where they have since resided.
Funeral services were held on January 3 from the Moreland Mortuary and entombment was in the Angels Abby Mausoleum.
Survivors include his widow, Mary Eve Leibli; two sons, Wilfred of Compton, Calif., and Manford of Twin Falls, Idaho, and three daughters, Mrs. Ilah Austine, Huntington Park, Calif.; Mrs. Pearl Jeffries, Scotia, Neb., and Mrs. Marjorie Sauter of Hot Springs, So. Dak.
