Mrs. Cleo McDaniel Dies Here Sunday

Mrs. Cleo McDaniel, 43, wife of Otto W. McDaniel, died at the family home at Lance Creek May 31 after a lingering illness.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Baker and was born Oct 22, 1909 at Stockville, Nebr. As a child she came to Midwest, Wyo. with her parents where she grew to young womanhood and received her education in the schools there.

On Aug. 22, 1929 she was married to Otto W. McDaniel in the Methodist Church at Casper. They are the parents of three children, Kent W. McDaniel, who is now a student at the Wyoming University, and Larry E. and Linda of the family home.

Since their marriage they have lived in the Salt Creek and Lance Creek oil fields.

Mrs. McDaniel had been in ill health for many months suffering from a cancerous condition of the liver and was a young woman to have to dle. The only regret she expressed on leaving this life was that of leaving her family.

Besides her husband and children, surviving are her father, Ernest Baker, of Okmulgee, Okla., a brother, D.C. Baker, of Denver, and two sisters, Mrs. Vera Stewart and Miss Shirley Baker, both of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel at 10:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, June 2, with Rev. Clyde E. Hampton officiating.

The songs "How Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "Old Rugged Cross" were sung by Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Emerson Bonner with Mrs. J. P. Watson as accompanist.

Following the service here the body was taken to Casper where graveside services were held at 1:45. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Rev. Hampton accompanied the family to Casper.

The bearers were Bernal Massey, Burton Hall, Vern Lamb, Howard McNeil, Charles Tollman and Allen Wilson. However, Mr. Wilson was unable to go to Casper so Hayden Jones served as casket bearer there.
