C.W. Larsen, Former Resident, Dies at Grants Pass, Oregon
C.W. Larsen, former rancher near Manville, died at Grants Pass, Oregon, December 8.
Funeral services were held at Grants Pass, December 12, and were atended by a son, William Larsen of Lusk, and four daughers, Mrs. Allen Fosher of Manville, Mrs. Nels Mariegard of Keeline, Mrs. Mary Philbrick and Mrs. Agnes Kiever of Midwest.
Also surviving are his wife and another son, Ernest Larsen, of Merriman, Neb., and two other daughters, Rosa Hirsch of Merlin, Ore., and Nellie Stagnoff of Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Larsen was born in Denmark, July 9, 1875. In early manhood he took up blacksmithing as an apprentice for four years and then went into business for himself. He was married in Denmark to Anna Marie Anderson, May 29, 1900, and one son, Ernest, was born there.
The family came to the United States in 1902, settling at Akron, Ohio, and then moving on to Fremont, Neb. In 1908 Mr. Larsen homesteaded southeast of Manville, where the family was reared. One son, Henry, died in 1932.
