Funeral Services For Rosa D. Blair Are Held Here Sun.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa D. Blair, 80, who died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 16, were held in the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiated.
Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, Mrs. Otha B. Holcomb, Donley Unruh and George Gibson formed the quartet which sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle".
Casket bearers were: Fred Kittler, Clarence Pinkerton, T. L. Cantwell, Charles Vaughan, Marion Rasmusen and Earnest Shimek. Interment was in the Douglas cemetery beside her husband. The Peet Mortuary was in charge.
Rosa Delilah Spaugh was born May 11, 1875 at Marion Center, Marion County, Kans., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thos. Spaugh. She lived there during her girlhood and was married to James Kennedy March 3, 1892. She and her four-year-old son James Kennedy, came to Wyoming in 1903 and lived for awhile with her brother, the late Addison Spaugh on his ranch at Manville.
In 1912 she married George Bradley and they made their home on his homestead near Lance Creek. Mr. Bradley died in 1913 at the Spaugh ranch.
She was married to Thomas Blair in May, 1914 and they lived at various times in Manville, Keeline and Shawnee where Mr. Blair operated grain elevators. He died March 27, 1924 in Manville.
Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Blair made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Kennedy, in Manville. Mr. Kennedy died Sept. 21, 1937 and she continued to live with her daughter-in-law.
Mrs. Blair has been ill of heart condition for years. She was taken to the hospital more than a month ago for treatment but was released three weeks later and went to stay with Mrs. Kennedy in Lusk. The later found Mrs. Blair dead when she went to her room about 5:00 a.m. last Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Blair was a charter member of Niobrara Chapter No. 26, Order of the Eastern Star, and is a member of the Auxiliary of Niobrara Post No. 3511, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She is survived by one brother, William Spaugh of Hollywood, Cal.; three nieces; Annette Spaugh of Hollywood; Mrs. Netta M. Sullivan of Denver, who was reared by Mrs. Blair; Mrs. Ida Hillsman of Casper, two nephews: Charles Baker of Washington state and Bennie Baker of Rawlins; and Mrs. Kennedy of Lusk.

Mrs. Rosa Blair Dies in Lusk Wed.
Mrs. Rosa D. Blair, 80, was found dead in her bed at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Louise Kennedy of Lusk when the latter went into the room about 5:00 a.m. this Wednesday.
Mrs. Blair had been ill of a heart condition for years and was brought from her home at Manville to the Spencer Hospital for treatment about three weeks ago. She came to the Kennedy home Nov. 8.
Funeral services will be held at the Peet Chapel Monday, Nov. 21, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas cemetery. Other details had not yet been decided upon when The Herald went to press.
