Robert James "RJ" Hauck
Funeral services for Robert James "RJ" Hauck, 75, were held Nov. 13, at the Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas with Pastor Tom Strock of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiating. Interment will be in Harney Creek Ranch Cemetery near Lost Springs, with military honors accorded.
RJ Hauck, a resident of Converse County, died Nov. 6, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, S.D.
He was born June 25, 1932 in Leola, S.D. the son of Fred and Marie (Dabbert) Hauck. He was reared and educated in Leola. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from Jan. 11, 1953 to April 25, 1955. RJ worked as a truck driver and did road construction for the majority of his working career. He also worked at the Central Wyoming Livestock Sale Barn in Glenrock, where he met Ann Smathers. He has resided at the Harney Creek Ranch the past ten years. He enjoyed ranch life and spending time with his dog, Misty. He was a member of the Samuel Mares American Legion Post 8.
He is survived by Ann Smathers of Lost Springs and many other friends. Serving as pallbearers were Travis Dickau, Bruce Murray, Bradley Netz, Lonny Zahrowski, Dennis Moore and Terry Hunt.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Allen Corkill, Terry Woods, George Jackson, Joe Vodicka, Bob Hunt, and his numerous other friends.
A memorial to the Samuel Mares American Legion Post #8, P.O. Box 1, Douglas, WY 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
