Cheryl Kester

Cheryl Kester, 47, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Oct. 20, 2007 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 3, 1960 in Alliance, Nebr., to Lionel B. Howland and Elizabeth L. Serres Howland. She spent her early years and was educated in Nebraska, Wyoming and Idaho. She graduated from Eastern Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls with a degree in Business Management. She lived her adult life in Idaho Falls.

She married Brian Scott Kester on June 5, 1985 in Idaho Falls. She volunteered as an advocate for battered women for several years in the late 1980's. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church. Music was a very big part of her life, she played several instruments and loved to listen to Elvis. Cheryl always put everyone before herself.

She is survived by her husband: Brian Kester of Idaho Falls; a sister: Linda Howland of Idaho Falls, a sister: Susan (David) Gilmore and a brother: John Bartell both of Gillette, a special aunt: Cindy Serres of Idaho Falls, several nieces and nephews and many, many great-nieces and great-nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.

A Mass of the Christian Burial was Oct. 26 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Idaho Falls. A Vigil Service was held Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls with a visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park.
