Col. Walter Cross, Brother of Bea. Owen, Dies in California
Word was received by friends here of the death of Col. Walter Cross, brother of Beatrice Owen, at San Bernardino, Calif., on Friday, March 18.
The young man, who held the rank of colonel in the U. S Army, died suddenly from a heart attack only one week after he had been transferred to California from Colorado.
He had been stationed in Germany much of the time since the end of the war, returning to the United States within the last year.
Another brother, Gene Cross, also stationed in Germany, flew back to the States up receiving word of his brother's death.
Funeral service will be held in Rawlins,. Wyo., Thursday or Friday and the remains will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery, near Washington, D.C.
Surviving is his wife and small son, his mother, Mrs. Gensel of Rawlins: his brother, Gene, and sister, Mrs. Beatrice Owen, formerly of Lusk.
