Deanna Lea Nelson
Infant Suffocates In Bed at Newcastle
Deanna Lea Nelson, 3-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar E. Nelson, was found dead in her crib about 4:00 o'clock Sunday morning (January 2). Cause of death was suffocation.
The mother was in the hospital at Lusk and the father was caring for the small infant at their home on Salt Creek. Mr. Nelson arose and went to the crib about 4:00 to see if the little baby was covered. In some manner the baby had slipped under the covers and was suffocated. He immediately took the baby to a neighbor's, who in turn brought them to town.
Funeral services are expected to be held in Torrington this afternoon, with Elder Estey of Newcastle in charge. The baby was born September 3, 1948.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson recently moved to Newcastle from Lusk and Mr. Nelson is the government trapper in this territory. - (Newcastle News-Letter)
