John Albert Holt
J.A. Holt Last Rites in Cheyenne
Funeral services were held in Cheyenne Feb. 24 for J. A. Holt, former resident of Lost Springs, and a brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Miller of Lusk.
Mr. Holt died in Los Angeles Feb. 17, having arrived there only the day before from Texas where he and his wife had gone upon leaving Wyoming about a year ago. They were visiting at the home of Mrs. Holt's brother, Dewey Keister, and wife when Mr. Holt was stricken with a heart attack.
John Albert Holt was born Mar. 7, 1893 at Johnstown, Nebr. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holt, and grew to manhood there where he attended York College. He was married to Miss Mina Ruth Keister at Valentine, Nebr., Sept. 28, 1912 and they are the parents of two daughters.
During World War I be was a recruiting officer in the 6th Division as a first lieutenant. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge of Lusk.
Surivors include his widow and his two daughters, Mrs. Ethelyn Thompson of Wheatland. Wyo., Mrs. Alberta Schwartz of Cheyenne, Wyo., his mother, Mrs. Emma Holt of Johnstown, Nebr., four sisters and one brother.
Those from Lusk attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Cart Cline and Charles McLean.
