Services for Lola Anna Blackmore were held at the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk, on Monday, March 4. Officiating was Rev. Sam Hendricks. Music was by Minerva Watson, organist and Joy Kaltenheuser, sang "Beyond the Sunset", and "Softly and Tenderly."

Pallbearers were Gary Schmidt, Dale Terrell, Ed Boner, Harry Fernau, Richard Fernau and Norman Blackmore.

Honorary pallbearers were Tom Thompson, David Trabert and Steve Castle.

Interment was at Lusk Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Peet Mortuary.

Lola Anna Blackmore was born Nov. 13, 1902, in Logan, Kansas, to James and Minnie Porter, the second of 11 children. The family moved to Litchfield, Neb. in 1907. She attended school there until the family moved to Antioch, Neb., where she finished school. The family moved to Lusk. Lola then attended Chadron Normal, received a teaching certificate, and taught rural school in Nebraska.

She married Theron Blackmore of Lusk, on Aug. 20, 1926. They moved to Salt Creek, and returned to Lusk in 1935. To this union seven children were born: Thera Trabert of Chadron, Neb., Gene Blackmore of Sacremento, Cal., Shirley Heyl of San Leon, Texas, Bill Blackmore of Houston, Texas, Bob Blackmore of Lakewood, Colo., John Blackmore of Bay Town, Texas, and Marcia Schmidt of Land O' Lakes, Wisc. All of the above children graduated from high school in Lusk.

She had lived at the Ranger apartments until becoming ill, and then resided at a nursing home close to her son Bob in Lakewood, Colo. She passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 1985, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver. She devoted her life to the care and guidance of her family. She loved flowers, music and reading, especially inspirational.

She is survived by all her children; three sisters, Floy Douglas of Aliance, Neb., Mayme Cox and Billie Clark of San Diego, Cal.; seventeen grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
