Rev. William Fredrickson
Rev. William Fredrickson
Rev. William Fredrickson, who served as pastor of the Lance Creek Community Church from July 1958 until July 1962, died August 30, 1988 at his home.
In the fall of 1958, the church building on the hill was moved to a location beside the parsonage at Mosierville and under his direction, the building was converted into a comfortable addition to the pastor's house. A new location for the church was made thru the aid of a Frontier Friends Gift of $4000, the church purchased the old drug store building, which was remodeled into a sanctuary with adjoining Sunday School rooms, a well-equiped kitchen and a pastor's study.
Again the oil fields declined and members transferred to other fields, but work at the church kept the remaining members and pastor busy.
The Fredrickson family, consisting of pastor Fredrickson, his wife, Ada and their children, Carolyn, Karen and Paul moved to Kansas after leaving Lance Creek. Mrs. Fredrickson later passed away. Rev. Fredrickson married again in later years and at the time of his death was residing in South International Falls, MN.
He was a member of the Lance Creek VFW Post # 7562 and kept his membership here when it was changed to the Bryant-Kant Post # 19390.
