By Mrs. Charles V. Lee, Lance Creek Correspondent
John W. Denny, production superintendent of the Continental Oil Co. at Lance Creek for 15 years and more recently production superintendent for the Crusader Corp., died of a heart attack at his room in the Ranger Hotel Monday noon.
During the morning he with Joe Kirkpatrick of Crusader had visited Crusader locations, and on feeling ill came back to town. He first got a hair cut and became worse at the barber shop, but went on to his room at the hotel and called a doctor. Roy Chamberlain, hotel manager, together with two other men, were getting ready to take him to a hospital when he died.

In July, 1952 he was retired from the company, and in early October accepted a position as drilling superintendent for Crusader Corp. As such he was in and out of Lusk with headquarters at Casper.
Mr. Denny was born in Washington, Penn. July 7, 1887, but further details of his life had not been secured at The Herald press time.
Rosary services were being held at the Peet Mortuary this Wednesday morning by the Rev. Fr. M. J. McBrien, and the body was being taken to Denver for burial.
