Lois R. Weber

Funeral services for Lois R. Weber, 81, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 16, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Lusk with Pastor Tom Strock officiating. Interment will be at the Lusk Cemetery.

She passed away Aug. 13, 2007 in Torrington, following a brief illness.

Born April 22, 1926, in LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Hazel Walker, Lois moved to Lusk with her family at an early age and lived and worked along side her brother and dad on the family farm, and later at their downtown restaurant. She was known for her delicious pies.

On March 30, 1947, she married Milton (Slim) Weber in Jay Em.

In later years she cooked for the schools in Rawlins and Jeffrey City. She was a caregiver to her mom, Hazel Walker, for many years, until her mother's death in 1989. When she later entered the Goshen Care Center, she was a caregiver to the many residents there.

She was a devout Christian and actively participated in the First Baptist Churches at Rawlins, Lusk, and Torrington.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy (Mike) Rose of Sinclair, Shary (Bob) Moore of Rawlins, and Dixie (Loy) McCoy of Torrington; her son Tom (Colleen) Weber of Douglas; step-daughters Dorothy of S.D., Luella of Nev., and Jolene of Colo.; sisters Joyce Cordes of S.D., and Beverly Bonsell of Lusk; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill, her husband, and two nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Goshen Care Center, 2009 Laramie, Torrington, WY 82240, for the excellent care she received there; or to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 876, Lusk, WY 82225.

Pier Funeral Home of Lusk is handling the arrangements.
