Miss Lana Ord Dies in California
Word of the death of Miss Lana Ord on Oct. 23 has been received by relatives here.
Miss Ord taught school in the vicinity of Lusk for a number of years leaving here some 16 years ago for Escondido, Calif., where she has since resided and passed away in a hospital there after a four weeks illness.
The deceased was the eldest sister of the late Robert C. Ord of Lusk and made her home much of the time with the Ord family while living in Wyoming. She was born in Wisconsin in 1864 and while still a small child moved with her parents to Pawnee City, Nebr.
Among the schools which Miss Ord taught in this community were the Hat Creek, Moore Springs, Jireh and a number of other rural schools.
She is survived by three nieces in Lusk, Mrs. Marjorie Darrow, Mrs. Roy Chamberlain and Mrs. Jeanette Sager.
