Grace Ellen (Wilson) Powers
Graveside memorial services for Grace Ellen (Wilson) Powers were held at 2 p.m., July 10, at the Lusk Cemetery with Pastor Tom Strock of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Grace died after a brief illness, July 1, 2007 in Yankton, S.D.
Grace was born Nov. 28, 1926 to D.F. and Grace Wilson in Douglas. A few years later she moved with her family to Lusk where she attended school until graduation in 1945. At the age of 21 she married Eugene H. Powers at her parents' home. Grace and Gene made their home in Belle Fourche, S.D., and had two children, Lee and Linda.
Grace enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and crocheting. She loved music; both singing and being sung to. She liked to fish and camp with her family. She liked playing Bingo and Keno and also enjoyed being around children.
Grace is survived by her two children, Lee Powers of Brookings; S.D.; Linda Beane of Gillette; her sister Davenne Glandt of Cheyenne; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.
Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of the arrangements.
