Mrs. Milton P. (Mabel) Vollmer, 81, died last Thursday morning at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital in Lusk, following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the Peet Chapel in Lusk, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, with Rev. James E. Scott officiating.
Miss Delores DeCastro and Mrs. Lyle Eddy, accompanied by Mrs. A.F. DeCastro on the organ sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "O Come All Ye Faithful."
Casket bearers were Marvin Jensen, Earl Jensen, Joe Jensen, Harry Lorenzen, Clifford Cox and George Dixon. Honorary bearers were Tom Downey, Orville Allbright, Otto Krekelser, Paul Neany, Lawrence Kan, Gordon Kaan, Hank Meyers and Jim Potter. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.
Mabel Riley was born March 3, 1885 to Mr. and Mrs. John Riley of Williamsport, Pa. She married Milton P. Vollmer of Williamsport, August 13, 1904. They were the parents of seven children, Mrs. Mabel Brown of Lingle; Mrs. Helen Heminger of Santa Barbara, Calif.; Mrs. Alice Blair of Sidney, Nebr., Milton Franklin of Bangkok, Thailand; John Robert of Lusk; Milton Robert of Rawlins and Shirley Vollmer of Rawlins.
She came to Lusk, with her family in June of 1914 to join her husband who had come ahead of his family.
Mrs. Vollmer was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her widower; seven children; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
