Dr. G.D. Murphy Dies in Long Beach

Dr. G.D. Murphy, 78, a long time physician of Lusk and the Keeline community, died in a hospital at Long Beach, Calif. Dec. 27 after an illness of several years.

The doctor was born at Delano, Minn., and came to Wyoming some 30 or more years ago. He and Mrs. Murphy homesteaded in the Flattop community and later bought the drug store in Keeline.

Later the family moved to Lusk where the doctor practiced medicine for many years. He retired and moved to California about eight years ago and has been a patient in a sanitarium for the past year.

Funeral services were held in Long Beach Sunday, Dec. 30.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Strohecker of Powder River, Wyo., Mrs. Phyllis Inmon of Long Beach, Calif., and two sons, Donald of Lusk and John, who is in the U.S. Navy.
