Graveside services for Dolly May Meinzer, 100, were held May 2, 2007 at the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas with Reverend Linda Wells of the First United Methodist Church officiating.

Dolly Meinzer, a former resident of Converse County, died April 26 at the Poplar Living Center in Casper, Wyoming.

She was born Jan. 7, 1907 in Dunlap, Kan. the daughter of Henry Lewis and Annie Bell (Back) Spellman. The family moved to Wyoming in 1914, and they homesteaded 11 miles north of Lost Springs. She was reared and educated at the ranch and the school in Lost Springs. She was married to Louie Emil Meinzer on November 19, 1927 in Casper. They ranched and farmed in the Lost Springs area and in 1937 moved to Shawnee. In 1940 they moved into Douglas and she worked as a clerk at the Frontier Drug Store and Goodrich's Drug. They then moved to Casper in 1953, where she worked at various drug stores and restaurants as a clerk. In 1962 they bought a liquor store, City Liquor Store, in Canon City, Colo., which they operated until retirement in 1978. She moved to Casper in February 2001 to be near her son. She enjoyed ceramics and genealogy.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth L. and wife, Mary "Jerry" Meinzer of Casper; grandsons, Kenneth P. Meinzer of Salt Lake City, Utah and Gary J. Meinzer of Casper; four great grandsons; and two great-great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louie E. Meinzer, on March 7, 1983; and two sisters, Minnie Baker McCormick and Bertha Pickinpaugh.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.

A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.
