Services for John Jassman, age 77, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26 in the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Scott Grimshaw officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery with Graveside Rites by Elks Lodge #1797 of Lusk.

Mr. Jassman died Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebr. He was born Nov. 1, 1912 in Niobrara County, Wyoming, the son of John G. and Emelia Jassman.

He attended school in Node, Wyo. and worked on the family ranch herding sheep and trapping. He later worked at a CC Camp and also for several years in the oil field.

He married Dorothy Mary Robinson on Oct. 12, 1940, in Gering, Nebr.They owned and operated the Oasis Bar in Lusk and John also drove a school bus. Dorothy preceded him in death in 1968. They were the parents of one son, Jerry.

He later married Roberta Kennedy on Feb. 28, 1970. they were the parents of one son, Johnnie Wayne Jassman.

John also worked for the Windmill Well Service for several years and later bought the Silver Dollar Bar. He also operated the family ranch until the time of his death.

John loved fishing, hunting, and he grew a big vegetable garden. The produce he grew he enjoyed sharing.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Jassman of Newcastle, Johnny Wayne Jassman of Lusk; four sisters, Amelia Anderson, Katie Jugler, and Sophia Klemke all of Lusk and Elsie Bucholz of Hendricks, Minn., four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

For those who wish, memorials to an Educatiion Fund for Johnny Wayne Jassman will be appreciated by the family.
