Death came quietly to John G. Jassman, 73, at his home here about noon Monday, August 22.
Mr. Jassman had been in failing health for several years and because of that fact moved from his ranch into Lusk about four years ago. He and his wife purchased the residence formerly used as the Congregational parsonage and have made their home there since that time.
Born in Russia on December 25, 1875, he came to Wyoming in 1909 and located on land some 10 miles northeast of Lusk, where his family ws raised, and where he became one of the prominent farmers of that part of the county.
Besides his wife he is survived by eight sons and daughters.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Peet chapel on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. H.T. Clark officiating.

John G. Jassman, Well-Known Retired Rancher, Passes Away at Family Home; Services Held Thursday Afternoon
Concluding rites were held at two thirty o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon in the chapel of the Peet funeral home for John G. Jassman, well-known retired rancher, who passed away at he family home at one o'clock Monday afternoon, August 22.
Rev. Hal T. Clark, pastor of the First Baptist Church of this city, officiated at the services. Mesdames Ab DeCastro, Emerson Bonner and Miss Justine Watson during the rites sang three selections, "In the Garden," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Sweet By and By." Mrs. Judson P. Watson, Sr. accompanied at the chapel organ.
Bearing the remains to their final resting place in the Lusk cemetery were Lavern James, Roy Turnbull, Arthur Thompson, Earl Murphy, Carl Bruch and C. E. Marvin.
John George Jassman was born December 25, 1875 at Worms, Russia, a son of Christian and Catherine Wycume Jassman. He departed from this life on Monday, August 22, 1949, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 27 days.
When a young man, he came to the United States to make his home, where he met and was married to Amelia Buchholz on January 19, 1905. This union was blessed with eight children, four sons, Christian, William, John, Jr., all of Lusk, Wyo.; and Harold of Thermopolis, Wyo.; and four daughters, Mrs. Sophie Klemke and Mrs. Amelia Anderson of Lusk, Wyo.; Mrs. Kathryn Jugler of Casper, Wyo.; and Mrs. Elsie Buchholz of Hendricks, Minn.
In 1909 Mr. and Mrs. Jassman traveled as far west as Harrison, Nebr., and the following year came to Wyoming where they homesteaded in the Divide community. Here they made their home, engaging in the ranching business until four years ago when ill health forced Mr. Jassman to retire. He and Mrs. Jassman then moved to Lusk.
The deceased was baptized into the Baptist faith April 17, 1938. From boyhood, however, he was reared in the Christian faith, following its teachings throughout his life.
Those who mourn his passing other than his wife and children are two half sisters, Mrs. Rose Cleverly of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Mrs. Pauline Blemhagen of Anamoose, North Dakota; 23 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half sisters and one half brother.

Last Rites Held For John Jassman
The final rites for John G. Jassman, a resident of this community for the past 40 years, were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Thursday afternoon, August 25, at 2:30.
Rev H.T. Clark, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated and the songs, "In the Garden," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Sweet Bye and Bye," were sung by a trio composed of Mrs. A.F. DeCastro, Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Miss Justine Watson. Mrs. J.P. Watson was the accompanist.
Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with the casket bearers being the following old time friends: Levern James, Roy Turnbull, Arthur Thompson, Earl Murphy, Carl Bruch and C.E. Marvin.

About four years ago ill health caused Mr. Jassman to retire from active ranch work, so he and his wife moved into town where they purchased a home and it was here that death came peacefully to him on Monday, Aug. 22, at 1 o'clock p.m.
Surviving him are his widow, Amelia Jassman, and four sons, Christian, William, John, Jr., all of Lusk, and Harold of Thermopolis, Wyo., and four daughters, Mrs. Sophie Klemke and Mrs. Amelia Anderson of Lusk. Mrs. Kathryn Jugler of Casper, Wyo., and Mrs. Elsie Buchholz of Hendricks, Minn., and two half sisters, Mrs. Rose Cleverly of Idaho Falls, Ida., and Mrs. Pauline Blumhagen of Anamoose, N. Dak. and 23 grandchildren.
