Ted Davis

Services for Ted Davis, 81, were held Monday, Feb. 26, 1990, at the Methodist Church in Harrison, Neb., with Rev. Joseph Booker officiating.

Ted died Feb. 22, 1990, at West Nebraska General Hospital in Scottsbluff, Neb. He was born Nov. 11, 1908, in the Kirtley Community to John W. and Sarah (Murphy) Davis.

Ted received his early education in country schools, graduating from Sioux County High School in 1926.

On May 5, 1939, he married Goldie Stevens in Harrison. Four children were born to this union, John, Wayne, Sharon and Patricia.

On July 29, 1973, he married Helen K. Vick in Lusk, Wyo., where he resided until death.

Ted had worked for the State of Nebraska and later owned and operated a service station while living in Harrison. He later went to work for Wasserburger Brothers in Harrison and Lusk retiring from there in 1981.

Survivors include two sons, John and Helen of Broken Arrow, Okla., Wayne of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Sharon and Ed Cole of Lusk; one sister-in-law, Gladys Davis of Gresham, Ore.; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and a large following of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Wendell, Wilbur and Irvin, two sister-in-laws: Erlene and Margaret and one daughter, Patricia.

Ted's greatest enjoyment in life after his family was the Senior Center in Lusk, which he helped get started. He drove bus for the center and you could always find him there in the afternoons looking for and usually finding a card game, or just visiting with his friends.

Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery. Memorials to the Senior Center in Lusk will be appreciated by the family.
