Elmer H. Nelson, age 92, of Lusk, passed away on, April 5, 2007, in Lusk. A funeral service was April 9 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Walker of the Lance Creek Community Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Dellview Cemetery at Manville.
Elmer was born in Ridgely, Neb. on April 18, 1914, to Andrew Chris and Emma M. Hinrichsen Nelson. He married Billie Baker in Chadron, Neb. on July 3, 1935. Most of their lives were spent on the Nelson Ranch in Lance Creek. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in July of 2005. Elmer's wife Billie passed away on Dec. 11, 2005. Elmer and Billie were the parents of Andy Nelson and Algera Jensen, both of Manville. Elmer lived a happy life and one of his greatest joys was spending time with his family and friends.
Elmer is survived by son Andy and his wife Gloria of Manville; daughter Algera Jensen of Manville; grandchildren: Tod Nelson and wife Marilyn, Rod Nelson and wife Roxie, all of Lusk, Candy and husband Robert Sedlacek of Ely, Nev., Chris and wife Jenifer Jensen of Lance Creek, Carol and husband Bill Bell of Alliance, Neb., Casey and wife Tammie Jensen of Lusk, Connie and Wade Ayers of Tonopah, Nev. Great-grandchildren; Brenda and Allen Chafin of Emmitt, Id., Joe and Kristy Sedlacek, Ely, Nev., Kenny and Jackie Jensen of Lusk, Chad and Val Bell, Alliance, Neb., Jamie and Jeff Lange, Kearney, Neb., Charlie and Courtney Bell of Gering, Neb., Cortney Jones of Texas, Cooper Jensen of Casper, Amber Si Jensen, Lusk, Sara, T.J. and Jeb Ayers of Tonopah, Nev., Ryan, Dustin, Amy and Erin Nelson of Lusk, Jeremy and Penny Nelson, Casper, Amanda Nelson, Casper; great-great-grandchildren Alexis, Braden and Blake Chafin of Emmitt, Id., Emma Sigvartsen Jensen, Lusk, Gavin Bell, Alliance, NE., and Aiden Bell of Gering, Neb. ; brother Linden Nelson and wife, Anna; sisters, Betty Cantrell of Glenrock, Violet Krutz of Denver, Ramona of New Jersey, Lauraine and her husband Laverne Jess; sisters-in-law Ruby Nelson, Estella Nelson and Hazel Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, brothers; Melvin, Lester, Fred, and one great granddaughter Rindy Dawn Jensen.
