Mrs. Bill (Vicki) Brown
Graveside services for former Lance Creek resident Mrs. Bill (Vicki) Brown were held in Glenrock March 26, 1990. She died March 19 at her home in California, Mo. Rev. Steve Dull of the Main Street Baptist Church of California officiated at the services in the Glenrock Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 30, 1899, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kratky) Tuma in Nebraska. She married William M. Brown on Oct. 1, 1919. They were the parents of three daughters. The family moved to Lance Creek in the late 1940s where Mr. Brown was transferred by the Ohio Oil Company (now Marathon). He retired Jan. 1, 1957 and the couple moved to Glenrock to make their home. Mr. Brown died in May 1968.
She later moved to Missouri to be near one of her daughters. She was an avid golfer and fisherman and was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church of California.
Survivors include two daughters; Genevieve Holloway of California, Mo. and Mrs. Johnny (Patricia) Rodgers of Kenai, Alaska; two brothers; Edward Tuma, Casper and Anton Tuma of Valpraiso, Fla.; three grandchildren; Vickie, Mike and Mark Rodgers and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Evanline Marie in 1936.
