Fred E. Bolinger
Services for former Green River and Lusk pastor, the Rev. Fred E. Bolinger, 86, of McLouth, Kan., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Countryside Baptist Church in rural McLouth. Burial will be at the McLouth cemetery.
The Rev. Bolinger died Aug. 21, 1994, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1908, at Redfield, Kan., the son of Eugene K. and Alice V. (Russell) Bolinger. In 1926, he graduated from Uniontown, Kan., High School and then attended Fort Scott Community College and Kansas City Bible College.
On March 14, 1935, he married Lorena Susan Conrad at Fort Scott. She preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1989.
He began his career with the ministry during the 1940's in Garland, Kan. In addition to Lusk and Green River, the Rev. Bolinger served as pastor of Baptist churches in the following towns: Hazelton, Blue Rapids, Pittsburg and Mound Valley, all in Kansas; Independence and Garden City, Missouri; and Crowley and Vona, Colo. In 1978, he moved to McLouth.
Survivors include three sons, Donald, Charles and James Bolinger, all of McLouth; a daughter, Mary V. Huff of Green River; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Paul Bolinger.
No family visitation is planned.
