Funeral services for Marie Bader, age 91, of Burleson, Texas, were held February 7 in Timber Lake, S.D. at the United Parish Church. Pastor Ron Brugger conducted the services with interment in the Timber Lake Cemetery.
Mrs. Bader passed away, February 2, at a hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
She was born February 5, 1902, in McIntosh County, Helwig, North Dakota, the daughter of August and Dora Meyer Pahl. She attended rural school near Kulm, N.D., and worked on neighboring farms and cooked for threshing crews. She married Albert Bader on March 26, 1921 at Ellendale, N.D. They lived on a farm near Kulm until 1925 when they moved to a farm north of Timber Lake, S.D.
After her husband died in 1965, she continued to live in Timber Lake until 1986, when she moved to Texas to live with her son Edward.
She is survived by three sons, Herbert Bader, Belle Fourche, S.D.; Louis Bader, Mobridge, S.D.; and Edward Bader of Burleson, Texas; one daughter, Betty Bader, Portland, Ore.; and one sister, Christina Balliet, Galt, Calif.; 18 grandchildren including Butch Bader and his wife Lynn, and Susie Betsinger and her husband Dennis, all of Lusk, Wyo.; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, three sons and a daughter.
Kesling Funeral Home of Timber Lake, S.D. was in charge of arrangements.
