Last Rites Held For Mary Zurn
Funeral services for Mary A. Zurn who had died March 31 in Chadron were held the morning of April 3 in St. John's Catholic Church at Crawford. Rev. C. J. Shumski offered the Mass and Joan Wendt was the organist. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Welling, Harold Meng, Lawrence Zurn, Joe LaMay, Edward DeBock and Kenneth Piper.
Mary A. Zurn, 86, died at the Niles Rest Home after a brief illness. She was born at Breda, Iowa, on October 7, 1880, to Adam and Rosana Schachtener Zurn. The family came to Nebraska in 1888.
Her homestead was located in the northeast part of Sioux County, but she lived most of her life on a farm northeast of Crawford. The past two years she has made her home with her nephew, Raymond Zurn, in Mitchell.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Theresa Welling who resides at the Niles Rest Home in Chadron, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lena Zurn of Crawford.
