Veda ZumBrunnen Dies October 28 In North Carolina

Mrs. Veda Beaver ZumBrunnen, 80, of Salisbury, N.C., died October 28 at a hospital there following an illness for the past year.

Mrs. ZumBrunnen was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Nellie Christian and Roy ZumBrunnen of Lusk. Mrs. Christian attended the services which were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Salisbury. The Reverends Uly H. Gooch, rector, and Kenneth R. Terry officiated. Burial was in City Memorial Park.

She was born March 29, 1890, at Villisca, Iowa, to Irvin and Laura Alice Wasson Beaver. She received her education in Iowa, attending Western Normal School in Shenandoah.

She and her husband Thomas P. ZumBrunnen moved to Salisbury November 11, 1922, where they had a practice in accounting.

Survivors include her widower Thomas P. of the family home, three sons, Thomas P. Jr., and Chester D., both of Salisbury, and The Rev. Richard I. of Churchville, Md.; four daughters, Mrs. E. W. Winkler, Raleigh, N.C.; Mrs. S. M. Purcel, Jr., and Mrs. George H. Emery, both of Salisbury and Mrs. Joseph W. Bach of Elnora, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
