Al Zielinski Dies in Oregon
Al Zielinski, former resident seven miles southwest of Van Tassell, died in Newport, Ore., on December 30, according to word received here by Andrew McMaster, who was a neighbor of the family.
He died of a sudden heart attack while helping a neighbor near his home at Agate Beach, Ore. Mr. and Mrs. McMaster visited Mr. and Mrs. Zielinski while on a trip last summer.
Mr. Zielinski was born to Antone and Mary Rakowski Zielinski in Neligh, Nebr., on September 27, 1903. He had been a resident of Agate Beach for 14 years, coming there from Monroe, Ore. He was the owner-operator of the Deluxe Cottages at Agate Beach.
The family had homesteaded southwest of Van Tassell about 1909. After the parents died, Al and his sister operated the ranch a year or so and left for Oregon in 1936.
Mr. Zielinski was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Newport Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, whom he married in Monroe on January 27, 1937; a daughter, Carol of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Joseph of Cicero, Ill., and Stanley of Chicago; and a sister, Helen of San Anselmo, Calif.
