Mrs. Wormwood Dies July 30

Mrs. Florence Wormwood, 90, of Glendo, sister of Andrew and Ray Christian of Lusk, died last Wednesday at a Newcastle hospital. Prayer services were held at the McColley Chapel of Newcastle Saturday evening at 7:00. Funeral services were held in Glendo at John the Baptist Episcopal Church with the Reverend Tom Solon of Casper officiating. Burial was in the Glendo cemetery.

Dan Christian of Lusk, nephew of Mrs. Wormwood was soloist. He sang "In The Garden" and "Rock of Ages," accompanied by Mrs. Earl Chambers organist of Glendo.

Casket bearers were William Trenholm, George Collins, Jr., George Langston, Everett Engling, Earl Chambers and Richard Hansen.

Mrs. Wormwood was born May 22, 1879, to Chris and Sarah Christian of Carroll County, Iowa. She moved with her family to Wyoming in 1890 where they homesteaded in the Kirtley community. She was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and taught for many years.

Mrs. Wormwood belonged to the Episcopal Church of Glendo, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and took active part in community affairs.

Her husband, parents, six sisters and two brothers died previously.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frances Hansen of Newcastle; Mrs. Marion Hudson of Bloomington, Ind.; one son, Oliver of California; two brothers, Andrew and Ray Christian of Lusk; three sisters, Mrs. Frida Eshleman of Whittier, Calif.; Mrs. Mabel Willson of Ashville, N. C.; Mrs. Jennie Moyer of Price, Tex.; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Christian, Andrew Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lohr, Mrs. Nellie Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Zumbrunnen, Mrs. Don Taylor, all of Lusk; Oliver Reynolds of Chadron; Mr. and Mrs. Julian Phipps of Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fisher of Hot Springs, S. Dak.
