Earl Bedell dies
Funeral services for pioneer resident C. Earl Bedell, 83, were Saturday, July 23, in the McColley Funeral Home, Newcastle.
Earl was born March 8, 1894 on Beaver Creek near Newcastle, to Charles W. and Alice E. Bedell. He was raised on the ranch where he also received his education. During World War I he served with the American Expeditionary Forces in France.
Following his return he began a homestead at Oil Creek. In later years, he purchased the E.V.A. Ranch. He later sold his Oil Creek holdings and continued to live on the E.V.A. until the time of his death.
He is survived by one sister, Florence Glasby, Lusk; four nieces and four nephews.
