Funeral Services for Cody James Orr, 16, were held Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Lingle - Fort Laramie High School Gymnasium in Lingle, Wyo. with Pastors Randy Simmons and David Anderson officiating. Interment was in the Fort Laramie Cemetery near Fort Laramie.
Cody Orr, a resident of Guernsey, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland from injuries received in an automobile accident near Glendo.
He was born May 21, 1990 in Torrington, the son of John H. and Stacie L. (Hill) Orr. He was reared in Guernsey and attended K-8 grades in the Guernsey elementary and junior high school and grade 9-10 at the Lingle - Fort Laramie High School in Lingle. During his junior high years he wrestled in Lingle for Coach Dee Bremer and in high school he was active with wrestling with Coach Bremer. He qualified for State Wrestling Tournament this year in Casper. He was also active with football, FBLA and band in high school. He had many girlfriends, but only one girl, Amanda Chamberlain. He enjoyed his friends, sword fighting, his sword collection, the computer, X-Box and mechanics. He was active in church youth group in Lingle and Guernsey.
He is survived by his parents, Stacie and John Orr; sisters, Tia Orr, Jessica Orr and Jennifer Orr; paternal grandparents, Butch and Dee Orr all of Guernsey; maternal grandparents, Jim and Gale Hill of Fort Laramie; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
His paternal grandmother, Nadine Orr, preceded him in death.
The family would appreciate a memorial to the Lingle -Fort Laramie Wrestling Department in care of Dee Bremer at the Lingle - Fort Laramie High School, P.O. BOX 379, Lingle, WY 82223.
Pallbearers were Ryan Brown, Tony Valentine, Chase Potter, Brock Serres, Josh Wilhelm, and Ryan Collar.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Hill, Vince Hill, Chris Orr, Justin Orr, Ryan Orr, Sydney Hill, and Samantha Hill.
The Gorman Funeral Home - Platte Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of the arrangements.
