Funeral Service For Robert Wolfe In Torrington

Robert E. Wolfe, 63, a long-time resident of this area, suffered a heart attack in San Diego, Calif. March 13. He was dead on arrival at the hospital.

Funeral service was held at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington on March 18 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Sims officiating. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Casket bearers were Bucky Barnette, Max Robinett, Bob Hladky, Chuck Brown, Bryan Heinz and James Brown. The Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington and the Peet Mortuary of Lusk were in charge of arrangements.

A 5:00 p.m. dinner for the family and friends was given Saturday at Jay Em by the Jay Woman's Club.

Robert Eugene Wolfe was born in Lusk September 17, 1908, the son of Wesley T. and Alice (Chalfant) Wolfe. He attended school in Lusk and graduated from the Lusk high School. After attending the Teachers College in Chadron, Nebr. he took a mechanical engineering course at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

He lived most of his early life on the historic Wolfe ranch south of Lusk. On January 2, 1941, he married LaVon (Bonnie) Gabbert at Lusk and they moved to San Diego where he was employed as a jig-builder in the Convair Division of General Dynamics. After the war they moved to Jay Em where he operated the garage and ran cattle on part of the old Wolfe land.

Five years ago they moved back to San Diego. At the time of his death he was in his old position with the Convair Division.

He is survived by his wife; one brother, John Wesley Wolfe of Lusk; a niece, Mrs. Leroy Redfield of Saugus, Calif.; several great nephews and nieces, and an uncle John Chalfant of Burlington, Colo.
