Amil H. Williams

Amil H. Williams, 73, a life-long resident of Niobrara County, died at his home in the Ranger Apartments Friday.

Mr. Williams was born in the Kirtley area, northeast of Lusk, on March 29, 1903, the third child of John D. and Armintha Boyles Williams. He attended the Kirtley schools and worked with his parents on their home place until the death of his father in 1946.

Amil sold the ranch and worked at various occupations until his retirement. He lived at the Hospitality House in Lusk for a time, then moved into the Ranger Apartments, where he was living at the time of his death.

Funeral service was Tuesday at the Peet Mortuary with the Rev. Lawrence Kelley officiating.

Minerva Watson was organist with Mark Lohr singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "This World is Not My Home."

Interment was at the Kirtley Cemetery. Active casket bearers were Stanley Wasson, Bill Dockery, Norman Brillhart, Charles Christian, Robert Zerbe and John Hammond.

Memorials may be sent to the Niobrara County Nursing Home.

Williams was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leonard L. and Charles; two sisters, Grace Kistler and Gladys Marie.

He is survived by eight nephews, Dale, Basil, Harold, Melvin, Robert, Donald, Terry and Gary; two nieces, Shirley Murphy and Carol Alexander; one aunt, Mrs. Goldie E. Church, and numerous cousins.
