Services for Mary E. Whiteaker, 80, of Harrison, NE will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church of Harrison. Burial will follow in the Harrison City Cemetery.
Mrs. Whiteaker died Monday, June 23, 1986 at Crawford (NE) Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband, E. E. Whiteaker; and three sons, Robert of Phoenix, AZ, Don of Lusk and Joe of Harrison.
Memorials may be directed to the Memorial United Methodist Church of Harrison. Peet Mortuary in Lusk is in charge of arrangements.

Mary E. Whiteaker
Memorial services for Mary E. Whiteaker, 80, of Harrison, NE were held last Wednesday, June 25 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Harrison. The Rev. Alan Davis officiated with burial following in the Harrison Cemetery.
Mrs. Whiteaker died Monday, June 23, 1986 at Crawford, (NE) Community Hospital. She was born on July 10, 1905 at the family farm near Vesta in Johnson County, NE. She was the fifth of Joseph and Bregetta Reed's seven children.
After her graduation from Tecumseh, (NE) High School, Mary came to Crawford, NE where she taught school in a rural, one room schoolhouse east of Crawford. While there she met Emmett "Abie" Whiteaker and the couple were married on Nov. 5, 1928 in Beatrice, NE.
Their lives have been closely linked to the Crawford and Harrison areas where they have resided for the past 57 and a half years since their marriage.
Mary was an active citizen and shared her outgoing enthusiasm and organizational skills at Whiteaker's Store in Harrison. The Harrison Ladies Community Club, the Methodist Church, Eastern Star, the State High School Rodeo and many other civic activities.
She is survived by her husband, Emmett; three sons, Robert of Phoenix, AZ, Donald of Lusk, and Joe of Harrison; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother, Charles Reed of Lincoln, NE; plus a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Mrs. Whiteaker was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Memorials to the Methodist Church in Harrison or to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated by the family. Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
