Services for Shorty Westone Are Held Friday
Funeral services were held Friday at 10:00 a.m. for Rollen M. "Shorty" Westone, 53, who was found dead in his bed in his trailer home in Lusk, March 14. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
The Peet Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. The Rev. Harold Brink of the Open Bible Church officiated.
Mrs. Merle Hahn, organist, accompanied the Rev. James E. Scott as he sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me."
Casket bearers were Marion Carr, Claude Redding, Hank Montgomery, Allen Hineman, C. E. Marvin and Walter (Babe) Schnorenberg.
There are no known relatives. He was born June 29, 1913. He had been a resident of Niobrara County for the past 30 years, working for a number of years for the Continental Oil Company at Lance Creek, and worked in Lusk the past several years.

Shorty Westone Found Dead Tues.
Rollen M. "Shorty" Westone, 53, was found dead in his trailer home in Lusk shortly after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Friends had not seen Mr. Westone for a longer than usual time and Tuesday evening decided to investigate. They found him on the floor.
There are no known relatives. Mr. Westone was born June 29, 1913. He worked for Continental Oil Co. at Lance Creek for many years and has lived and worked in Lusk the past several years.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. from Peet Chapel in Lusk.
