Edna Wertz Dies At Crawford Sat.
Mrs. Edna H. Wertz died at the Crawford Memorial Hospital May 4th after being confined there since March 22.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Memorial Church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. V. Mearl Hainsey officiating. Rebekah and Eastern Star services were conducted at the church and cemetery. Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery, with pallbearers being Clarence Dout, Norman Wickersham, Harry Zimmerman, E. J. Serres, Lew Sherrill, Adolph Zurcher. Mrs. M. H. Koch was organist.
Mrs. Wertz was born at Harrison July 17, 1888, the daughter of Eggert and Maria Rohwer. She graduated from the Harrison High School in 1904 and attended the Chadron Academy following which she taught school in Sioux County. She also served as deputy county clerk.
On January 11, 1919 she married Cyrus O. Wertz and subsequently lived at Lusk, Casper and Cheyenne, Wyo.
She was a member of Woodbine Rebekah Lodge No. 281 of Harrison over 52 years, Niobrara Chapter No. 26, Order of Eastern Star, Lusk, Methodist Memorial Church of Harrison and a charter member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Elsie M. Schnurr and Florence M. Rohwer and leaves surviving her brothers, Edward and George Rohwer, and nephews, Clarence and William Eggert Schnurr.
