Joseph Weimer Dies at Age 88
Funeral service for Joseph C. Weimer, 86, was held at the Peet Chapel in Lusk Monday morning at 10:30. Mr. Weimer died at the Converse County Memorial Hospital.
Officiating at the service was Curtis Adkison of Jehovah's Witnesses of Douglas. Organist, Pat Adkison, accompanied Doris, Donna and Diane Mahnke as they sang "Jehovah God Is My Shepherd" and "Keep Your Eyes On The Prize."
Casket bearers were Claude Weimer, Everett Weimer, Robert Holmes, Chester Bebber, Dean Engling, and Robert Weimer. Burial was in the family plot in the Horseshoe Cemetery, at Glendo.
Joseph C. Weimer, son of Jacob and Mary Weimer, was born April 20, 1887, at Indianhead, Penn. He attended schools in Pennsylvania and in 1900 moved to Kansas. December 21, 1907, he married Lydia Keatley.
In 1913 they moved to a homestead in the Flattop area where he ranched until 1958 when he retired and moved to Lusk.
His wife Lydia, his parents and four brothers and one sister died previously.
