Ralph D. Wasserburger

Services for Ralph D. Wasserburger, age 54, was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Peet Mortuary Chapel with officers of Lusk Elk's Lodge No. 1797 officiating. Burial with Elk's graveside rites and military honors will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Wasserburger died Thursday, November 17, 1988, at the VA Hospital in Hot Springs, South Dakota. He was born July 7, 1934, at Harrison, Nebraska, the son of Wilford and Frances Wasserburger. The family later moved to Lusk, where Ralph graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1960. Ralph was self-employed as a carpenter during his years in Lusk.

Ralph and Caroline (Bird) Wasserburger were married at Walden, Colorado, and to this union three daughters were born. He later married Fern Hock of Lusk on November 10, 1976.

Ralph had been a member of the Lusk Elk's Lodge 1797 for the past eighteen years, and was presently serving as Esquire. He loved his brother Elks and was a very devoted member.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include: Fern Wasserburger of Lusk; three daughters, Sherry Brown, Kim Morris and Tina Wasserburger all of Denver; four sisters, Midge Lawler of Sydney, Montana, Doris Thornhill of Austin, Texas, Elaine Kuhn of Lusk, and Beth Sides of Lusk; two brothers, Jerry Wasserburger of Lusk and Jim Wasserburger of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

For those who wish, memorials in Ralph's name to the Lusk Elk's Lodge #1797 will be appreciated by the family.
