Graveside services for Laura Lois Wagoner, 84, were held Saturday, March 13, 1993, at the Douglas Park Cemetery by Rev. Bill Moore.
She died March 10, 1993, at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas. She was born May 27, 1908, in Petersburg, Neb., the daughter of Arthur Eugene and Leona Cara (Myers) Stewart. The family moved to a homestead near Lance Creek when she was eight years old. She grew up and was educated in Niobrara County.
On April 4, 1932, she married Roy H. Wagoner in Lusk. The couple moved from Niobrara County to Douglas in 1945.
She enjoyed horseback riding and was known for her trick riding; played in various locations with a family country/western four-piece band and enjoyed plants and gardening. She was a member of the Rebekahs and Campfire Girls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died Jan. 4, 1981; two sisters, Myrtle Lee and Sylvia McCullough and two brothers, George H. and Eugene H. Stewart.
Survivors include four children; Donald B. Wagoner of Fargo, N.D., Arly J. Mack of Casper, Buddy D. Wagoner of Albuquerque, N.M. and Rodney A. Wagoner of Bassett, Neb.; a sister, Maudie Hudson of Kinnear; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
