Beatrice VanderSloot, 75, of Richardton, N.D., died Wednesday, July 31, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 3, 1991, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richardton with Fr. Brian Wangler, OSB officiating. Readers were Ken Kritinger and Bob Feller.
Altar boys were Jason Feller and Kelly Miller. Giftbearers were Shannon Ellis and Lynette Mischel. Special music was provided by Sylvia Feller, organist and St. Mary's Church Choir. Burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Richardton. Pallbearers were Shawn Ellis, Scott Edinger, Kevin Edinger, Chad Edinger, Arnie Friedt and Dale Jurgens.
VanderSloot was born Sept. 7, 1915, the daughter of Anton and Florentina (Hatzenbuechler) Feller at Richardton, N.D. She was raised on the family farm northeast of Richardton and attended St. Mary's Catholic School. On May 27, 1942, she married Harry VanderSloot at Richardton.
Following their marriage, they moved to Hardin, Mont., until 1947 when they moved to a farm north of Taylor, N.D. They retired in 1965 and moved into Richardton. While living in Richardton, she cooked at the Assumption Abbey from 1966 to 1979. Harry passed away in 1977. She was a member of Christian Mothers. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, listening to classical music, cooking, baking and being a grandmother.
Survivors include three daughters; Karen Edinger of Lusk, Wyo.; Lori Ellis of Athens, Ga. and Adriann Mischel of Dickinson, N.D.; four grandsons and two granddaughters; two sisters, Barbara Walton of Dickinson and Bertha Reinert of Richardton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry, two brothers, Mike and Math and one sister, Catherine Pflepsen.
Mischel-Olson Chapel were in charge of arrangements.
