Tessie Lee Valentine

Services were Saturday, Jan. 24 for Tessie L. Valentine, 98, of Lusk in the Peet Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Don Moore of Wheatland officiating. Burial was in the Manville Cemetery.

Mrs. Valentine died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1987 at the Niobrara County Memorial Nursing Home in Lusk. She was born June 11, 1888, in Tobias, NE, the daughter of Erastus and Jennie Baughn.

As a child she attended schools in both Nebraska and Wyoming. She married Ray Valentine on March 12, 1900, in Douglas and they made their home in Shawnee. Mr. Valentine preceded her in death in 1939.

In 1962, Mrs. Valentine moved to Wheatland, where she became an active member of the Nazarene Church. She entered the nursing home in Lusk in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, one daughter and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Glen Valentine and Wyoma Baker, both of Wheatland; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials to the Wheatland Nazarene Church Building Fund will be appreciated by the family.
