Rosary for Charles Francis Urban of Lance Creek was held last Friday evening at Peet Mortuary Chapel and the Mass of Resurrection was conducted by the Rev. Bernard Bianco, Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Leo's Catholic Church.
Charles Francis Urban was born November 8, 1941, at Hays, Kansas, the son of Frank and Leona Hoff Urban. He died at his home in Lance Creek November 11.
In 1942 Charles Urban moved with his family to Wichita where he attended school and on Oct. 6, 1962, married Carolyn Ann Legleiter. He operated Urbans' painting and decorating service for 18 years before moving to Lance Creek in 1979.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and one brother. He is survived by his wife Carolyn and seven children; Chris, Pat, Steve, Dennis, Gwen, Jeff and Tim, all of the family home in Lance Creek; one sister, Shirley Napier and one brother Darrell Urban both of Wichita.
Music, "I Will Raise Him Up," "He," and "Be Not Afraid," was provided by Jeraldine Waldock and Karen Edinger. Pallbearers were Rodney Jesienonski, Rod Milke, Kenneth Napier, John Hildbrand, Gary Troxel, and John Napier. Interment was in Lusk Cemetery.
