Lee Turner dies Service to be This Thursday

Funeral service will be held this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. for Lee Turner.

The service which was to be held Tuesday was postponed because of the storm

Mr. Turner, 79, died Friday at St. Mary Hospital in Scottsbluff.

He had been flown during the storm last week from the Clarence West Ranch near Van Tassell by a Nebraska National Guard helicopter to Scottsbluff.

The Rev. Frank M. Blish of the First Congregational Church will officiate at the service with Mrs. A. F. DeCastro organist playing the prelude and postlude. She will also accompany Mrs. Hobart Cockreham who will sing "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Casket bearers will be John Hammond, Otto York, Lloyd Adams, Bob Zerbe, William Immesoete and Dale Miller. Interment will be in the Lusk Cemetery.

Lee A. Turner, son of John and Jane Turner, was born December 19, 1895, in Carroll County, Mo., one of three children. He received his education around Hale, Mo.

He worked on railroads in Missouri for awhile and then moved to the Nebraska and Wyoming area to do some ranching and later worked for the railroad in Nebraska.

He was married to Faye Adams. They were the parents of two sons.

Survivors include a son Nelson Lee Turner, Edgerton, Kan.; a sister Mrs. Elsie West, Van Tassell, five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A son John H. Turner, a sister Ethel Seegrist and one grandson John H. Turner Jr., who was killed in Vietnam, died previously.
