Paul William Thurmond
Paul William Thurmond, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M. and a former resident of Lusk from 1943-1966, died Monday, April 1.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Thurmond, whom he married in 1938, sons James Thurmond of New Mexico and Paul Edward Thurmond of Ohio; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Daisey Mudersbach of Arizona.
Mr. and Mrs. Thurmond ranched in the Lusk area and also owned a restaurant. Paul was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and served twice as Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Thurmond also served as president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
