Anthony "Tony" I. Garcia, 74, was born on May 7, 1932 in Saguasche, Colorado to loving parents, Marie Lucy and Joseph Raymond Garcia. He left this world to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2007, at Porter Hospice Center in Littleton, CO.
Tony graduated from high school in Denver, CO and was a licensed plumber. He retired from Lockheed Martin Co. in 1992. Tony also served with the United States Marines in Korea for 3 years.
Tony had a good sense of humor and enjoyed the family dogs and cats along with fishing, hunting, gardening and feeding the squirrels. He enjoyed cooking and teaching his wife and children to cook Mexican food.
He left behind his wife Betty Jean Sawyer Garcia of 24 1/2 years; daughters, Elizabeth Garcia and Beth Ann Salas, both of Denver, CO; Louella Maddine Swendroski and her husband Michael of Arvada, CO; son, Patrick, and step-sons James Thunderhawk and David Schwarting, all of Rapid City, S.D.; a brother, Joseph Garcia of Broomfield, CO; 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jeanette; son, Barton; grandson, Elijah; sisters, Louevella and Madeline; and brother Manuel.
