Husband of Bernice Thayer is Killed In England
Mrs. Bernice Thayer of Lusk has received the news that her husband, Pfc. Benjamin C. Thayer of Capital Heights, Missouri, was accidentally killed in England when a gasoline truck he was driving caught fire and exploded. He was 20 years old at the time of the accident and had been stationed in England since November of 1943.
Pfc. and Mrs. Thayer were married June 1, 1942, at Salt Lake City, Utah, where Pfc. Thayer was stationed at the Army Air Base. He was called for overseas duty in late October of that year.
Mrs. Thayer, the former Bernice Moore, is the daughter of Mrs. W. S. Wise, formerly of Lusk. Mrs. Thayer has been making her home in Lusk since September and has been employed at the Ranger Hotel.
