Laura Tallman Dies Friday In Cheyenne

Funeral service was held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel for Laura Tallman, 89, and conducted by the Rev. Robert Walkley of Cheyenne. She died August 18 in Cheyenne.

Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, organist, accompanied Susan Baribeau, soloist as she sang "In the Garden" and "Face to Face." Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Clyde Blackmore, Frank Christian, Edward Hales, Otto Krekeler, Roger Percival and Dave Shepard. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Hansen, Lloyd Rhay, John Jassman, Melvin Miller, Ralph Fitzwater and Oscar Brannon, all of Lusk.

Laura Tallman was born in July 1883 at Williamsburg, Iowa. After receiving her education she was married to Harris D. Tallman. They came to Lusk in 1938. Her husband died in 1951 and she continued to live here until 1965 when she moved to Cheyenne to make her home with her daughter Mrs. Winifred Bogart. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Lusk.

She is survived by daughters, Winifred Bogart and Mina Curry, Laramie; sons, Harry of Lusk and Erwin of Cheyenne; three sisters, Sara White of North England, Iowa, Hanna Campbell, Boise, Idaho and Emma Jones of Williamsburg, Iowa; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A son, Charles W., died previously.

Note: The U.S. Social Security Index lists the date of death as August 15, 1972.
