Bill Summers Dies Sunday

Bill Summers, 57, former resident of Lance Creek, died in Denver early Sunday morning of uremic poisoning.

Services were held Wednesday, July 3, at the Methodist Church in Holyoke, Colo., at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Summers retired from the Continental Oil Co. about three years ago. He had lived in Lance Creek for many years prior to retiring.

He is survived by his son, Harold of Denver; four sisters, Mrs. Zete Christensen and Mrs. Edith Hargreaves of Holyoke, Bertha Kosloff of Chicago, and Mable Dawn of Banford, Conn.; two brothers, Clay of Denver and Wilber of Arapahoe, Colo. A niece, Mrs. Joe Stetson of Lusk also survives.

Services for Bill Summers Held Last Wed.

Funeral services for William H. Summers, 56, were held at the Methodist Church, Holyoke, Colo., July 3 at 10:00 a.m.

The Rev. Ward Barter, minister of the Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Holyoke Memorial Park with the Lewis Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Summers died en route to Colorado General Hospital June 29 after a prolonged illness.

William Harold Summers, son of Elmer G. and Emily Astin Summers, was born October 23, 1906 on a farm south of Holyoke.

He left Colorado in the early 1930's and settled in the Lance Creek oil field until he retired in 1959 and returned to Holyoke.

He is survived by a son, Harold, of Denver; four sisters, Zeta Christensen, and Edith Hargreaves, both of Holyoke; Mable Dann of Stamford, Conn.; Bertha Fae Kosloff of Chicago; two brothers F. C. Summers of Denver and W. J. Summers of Arapahoe, Colo. and several nieces and nephews.
