Bertha Stetson

Former Lusk resident Bertha E. Stetson, 71, died Monday at Natrona Memorial Hospital in Casper.

Born Jan. 19, 1908, at Chadron, Neb. Mrs. Stetson attended schools there. She married John C. Bickford in 1927 at Chadron, and they had six children.

In 1955 she married Ershall Stetson in Gering. She was a cook in Chadron, Gering and Lusk.

Mrs. Stetson was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the War Mothers in Lusk and the Manville Homemakers Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Naomi Grant of Keeline, Bonnie Jean Michon of Beaver Crossing, Neb., and Betty Lou Michon of Lincoln, Neb.; a son, John C. Bickford Jr. of Chatsworth, Ga.; a brother, Charles Weaver; two sisters, Ruby Collons and Lucille Wade; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, two daughters and nine sisters and brothers.

A service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Peet Mortuary in Lusk. Burial will follow at the Lusk Cemetery.

The Rev. Frank Bozart and Laird Johnson will officiate, and music will be provided by organist, Edna DeCastro. Wyona Overman and Judy Johnson will sing "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Pallbearers will be Neil Grant, Bill Michon, James C. Michon, Charles Michon, Sr., James Nelson, Vincent L. Michon and David Birch.

Memorials to the Niobrara County Senior Citizens Center are preferred.
